WHO ARE WE?
The Mid-Michigan Elite Soccer Association (MESA) has been in existence since 1999 and develops both select and premier level teams. The club primarily draws players from Genesee and Lapeer Counties, however, several teams have players from other neighboring counties. Our goal is to provide a cost effective alternative to high priced clubs, the opportunity for all players to move beyond the recreational level and to make it about the passion for the game-not about making profits. Our coaches are focused and dedicated to one team, not juggling three or four teams in order to make a profit. They add a personal touch and a commitment level that you will not find in big clubs with paid coaching staffs. If you or your child are interested in MESA please fill out this simple form attached and the appropriate coach or board member will contact you.
WHAT MAKES MESA DIFFERENT?
HOW DOES IT WORK?
MESA teams typically practice two nights per week during the outdoor seasons and have games on Saturday and/or Sunday. MESA does not discourage your children from playing multiple sports, and we encourage our coaches to be understanding when scheduling conflicts may arise. MESA teams typically have eight home games and eight away games annually. The home games are played at Gates Elementary, on Irish Rd in Davison. The away games may be played in Lapeer, Midland, Saginaw, Bay City, Lansing, etc. Typically, the travel time to away games is 30-60 minutes. Premier teams may travel further distances.
WHAT DO THE FEES COVER?
Player Fees are typically between $300 and $800 a year, paid throughout the year. Fundraisers and team sponsors can reduce the out of pocket expenses. Fees may be higher for Premier teams. MESA recommends one or two tournaments per season (two season/four annually) and playing in indoor leagues in the winter, however, this is ultimately determined by each individual team.
